Things my house has taught me

1. Wires come from all directions and originate in mysterious locations that can't be mapped by human hands.

2. Thinning your seedlings = killing some of them. (I felt like such a terrible parent.)

3. They don't make floorboards anymore like they did in 1910.

One of my friends from work is restoring an old house in East Cleveland and told me that Habitat for Humanity sells stuff from old houses to raise money and you can get good materials from old homes.

Site is here:

Thanks! We actually went there on Saturday. They didn't have what we were looking for but it was good to know for the future, especially since we're intending on replacing a lot of modern fixtures with old ones.

Eat those sprouts! Ever heard of microgreens? That's just a fancy way of saying baby plants whose lives have ended early. I eat the sprouts I thin and than think about how densely nutritious they were.

Oh! Good thinking. And I was just tossing them into the yard. I hope some squirrels got their microgreens for the day, at least.

I hate thinning seedlings! It seems so sad.
