Ohio City, Here We Come
Despite some misgivings I had during our first recon mission, Jim and I have signed a lease on a lovely apartment in Ohio City.
Back in July 2004, right before we moved away, I went to the West Side Market for (what I thought was) one last time.
This was during the height of Open Air in Market Square. I ran into some friends, who wished me luck. I watched live music. I drank coffee at Talkies. And -- just briefly -- I thought, "I shouldn't do this. I shouldn't go. This is where I belong."
How fitting.

I think you made a great decision. I'll be on the look out for you and Jim and will say "hi" - I went to KSU with you :)
Welcome back!
(FYI - Tri-C just posted a position)
You did, eh? I'm getting really bad at names and faces. But I would probably recognize you.
My childhood day care and after school program were in Ohio City at the old West Side Community House. Lovely neighborhood. I have one job offer and am waiting to here from 2 places that I interviewed in the last week. I'm afraid I may be moving to an area that doesn't have the architectural character and charm I crave.
I really hope you don't have to leave Cleveland, LaDonna. I'm rooting for you....
congrats, christine!
ohio city is a great choice. we made the move ourselves from nyc 6 weeks ago. we bought a house in lakewood and love it. :)
jackie
Congrats and welcome home.
Christine - congrats! This is so cool. :) Very exciting times for you. :)
Christine I'm very thrilled for you! I work on W. 25th about five storefronts N. of The Market so I hope we can have coffee sometime! Welcome Home! :-)
Today, and every Sunday, the West Side Market Cafe (http://www.westsidemarketcafe.com/) offers what we think is one of the best brunches in the city--people come from far and wide. We also noticed a new restaurant inside the lobby of the Bier Market Thursday night when we were laying over waiting for the bus. These are exciting times of great opportunity, and you got back just in time.
Thank you everyone for your kind words...
Jackie: I just got an email from another CleveYorker who's intent on getting back to the land of NEO. Hopefully we've started a trend here.... so email me; we should get together sometime! I'd love to see your new house....
Tim: "exciting times of new opportunity." Yeah. I had a dream last night where the word "opportunity" just kept drifting in and out. Can't remember much else about it, but there was a real sense of *Cleveland* in the dream, if you know what I mean. I'm looking forward to this!
