Nerd Alert

I'm about to discuss Doctor Who, so those of you with an image of me prancing out of my Williamsburg loft to eat cupcakes and listen to warbling emo bands with dirty goatees at the Pink Pony should look away now, lest you be disappointed.

If David Tennant leaves, I'm going to be really pissed. I'm already disappointed by the loss of Billie Piper, who was arguably my favorite companion since Sarah Jane. And come on! The doctor can only regenerate 12 times, and we all remember the hideous beast the Master became when he tried to thwart the course of nature.

Twelve times? When did that come up? And isn't DT number eleven? Oh my.

I think it came up in the Deadly Assassin, during the Tom Baker years, when the Master had regenerated too many times and was out looking for a new body to inhabit. David Tennant is number ten - I've been nervous about this ever since the short-lived Colin Baker, and then the short-lived Sylvester McCoy, and then the even shorter lived Paul McGann who only lasted for that one stupid movie (I personally don't think they should count Paul McGann as the 8th doctor). And I absolutely loved Christopher Eccleston's all-too-brief doctor. Hopefully the BBC will find some way around this, like the doctor discovers he can regenerate forever because he's the only time lord left....
