Well, Someone Finally Said It
After listening to me go on and on about how unsatisfied I am in life, and how unsatisfied I might potentially be after yet another adventure in relocation, my boyfriend just said, "It doesn't matter where you go. If you're far away from Cleveland, you're going to hate it."

Home is where the heart is. Apparently your heart is still in Cleveland. Such makes going anywhere else quite rough.
Where is my heart? That I am not sure of. I do know it is not really in Ashtabula!
I came back to Cleveland from Columbus. I missed my home town, with all it's ups and downs.
First of all, I'm one of those people who is proud of where they are from. If I would have been born in Gary, Indiana, I would be proud of there. Fortunately my grandfathers chose Cleveland as the place to settle.
I have spent time in Columbus, NYC, Chicagoland, Newport Beach, Charlotte, Atlanta, New Haven. They all had their nice parts, and some great people but they were not home.
They did not have my family, and friends. The friends I made in other places have no idea why I love Friday Night HS football or why I would want to hang out in a local bar and get a fish fry. Why when driving up 77 and I see the smoke stacks filling the air I get proud.
I can't go to another town and become a fan of their teams, it would feel like cheating. I could list everything that is great about Cleveland and someone else can list all the negatives. All I know is that this is where I am from, this is where my family is and I can do whatever I wish to do with my life/career from here. I may not have west coast "bling" or east coast snobbery but hey, I can park my paid for car in my paid for house in a great neighborhood.
Life is too short to be unhappy. If you want to be home, come home. Empower yourself and make it happen. Anything you want to achieve in life you can do from here.
